Emily Binder has been creating drawings and paintings since she was a toddler.  She uses a wide variety of media: acrylic, watercolor and oil paint, markers, collage, assemblage and photography.  Binder aims to develop further the concept of Maximalism by incorporating excessive amounts of collaboration and experimentation into her work.  She has two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz: one in Business Management and another in Studio Art.  Since graduating in 2016, she has worked in galleries in Northern and Southern California as an Assistant Director, Curator and Event Coordinator.  Currently based in San Francisco, Binder consistently investigates ways to express the complexity of human emotion through vibrant compositions while juxtaposing, balancing and combining realism and abstraction.
